Feb. 5, 2015 - St. Louis, Aurora, Sac and Kickapoo

Walker's Club today adjusted their hike and headed to St. Louis Canyon, Sac, Kickapoo and some ventured into Aurora Canyon.  The trails were extremely snow covered.  It was also a day to layer up.  Starting temp was in the single digits.  Upon finishing it was about 20.  The sun was shining and it made for a great day to be hiking.

The Glassinator stands still without a breeze today.

All making the trek to St. Louis Canyon

Nice bleacher seats but no takers ?????

Lots of critter tracks under the log

Iron deposits in the Sandstone

Again, a nice cushiony sitting spot, but no takers.

Trails are snow packed

What a nice payoff after a cold hike.  Nice Frozen fall in St. Louis Canyon

Bridge going back out of St. Louis Canyon

Single file path

Jan fell off the side of the bridge going into Aurora Canyon.  Many fell off and over on the way out.  Myself included.

Joe doesn't see why I like Aurora Canyon so much, he elected to take photos of the group from the bridge above.
Beautiful Aurora Canyon

Closer up to Aurora Canyon

Looking back at the group, trying to get out of the canyon

Kevin needed a break after all the hiking in the snow.

Looking up coming out of Aurora
What is your favorite canyon? Let me know on Starved Rock Lodge Activities facebook page.

Wherever you may hike or walk, just put one foot in front of the other.  It's all about the experience not the destination.
